The Houston Texans closed out the first half against the Seattle Seahawks today with a a bomb of a field goal from veteran kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn.
Fairbairn drilled a 61-yard field goal as time expired, sending the Texans into intermission trailing 16-13. The kick is the longest of his five-year career.
Fairbairn’s previous long of 55 yards came in his rookie season back in 2017.

Coming into today, Fairbairn had not been his usual self kicking this year. He converted just 6-of-9 extra points and 9-of-12 field goals.
Clearly, he still has something left in his right leg.
Houston still trails the Seahawks 16-13 midway through the third quarter. The Texans are looking for their third win of the season.
