Man charged after van is set alight in Scots multi-storey car park

A person has been charged in reference to a hearth at a multi-storey automobile park in Perth after a van was set alight. Smoke was captured billowing onto a road on Wednesday night time as a van went up in flames within the automobile park.

Emergency providers raced to town centre at Canal Road and blocked off the street in response to the incident. Now Police Scotland has confirmed that a 47-year-old male has been charged in connection.

Each the Scottish Fireplace and Rescue Service (SFRS) and Police Scotland attended after they had been alerted at 9pm, on July 20. Two home equipment had been known as to the scene who shortly dosed out the van hearth quarter-hour later. SFRS crews left the automobile park shortly after 10pm.

It has been confirmed nobody was injured by the fireplace. and no different automobiles had been broken. The accused is because of seem at Perth Sheriff Courtroom at this time (Thursday).

A SFRS spokesperson mentioned: "We had been known as to a report of a van on hearth at a Canal Road, Perth, at precisely 9pm. Two pumps had been in attendance. The fireplace was stopped by 9.15pm and we left the scene at 22.09."

A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned : “A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in reference to a hearth after a van was set alight in Canal Road multi automobile park in Perth at round 9.05pm on Wednesday, 20 July, 2022.

"No-one was injured in consequence and the fireplace was extinguished by Scottish Fireplace and Rescue Service. He's anticipated to look at Perth Sheriff Courtroom on Thursday, 21 July, 2022.”
