A canine has been reunited along with his proprietor after he fell down a 30ft cliff on the Ness of Sound in Lerwick, Shetland.
Socks' proprietor, Jay McGill, had misplaced the Border Collie at midday on Saturday, July 16 and had been looking land for 5 hours. He then contacted the Coastguard for help and Coastguard Rescue Groups and Lerwick Lifeboat have been despatched to the scene.
Lerwick Lifeboat was launched at round 6.30pm and was by the Ness of Sound inside 5 minutes. Given the 11-year-old canine's location close to the waterline, a choice was made to deploy the inflatable ‘Y-boat.’
Quickly, two crew members have been in a position get better Socks to the lifeboat.
Socks was a little bit subdued however did not have any important accidents regardless of his fall from a cliff thought to have been round 30ft excessive. The lifeboat then returned to Lerwick harbour simply after 7pm to return the canine to his proprietor on the pier within the small boat harbour.

Aid Coswain Darren Harcus stated: “We’re happy to have been capable of assist with Socks’ rescue and to see him handed safely again to his proprietor.
"They did precisely the proper factor by contacting the Coastguard once they realised that their canine was in issue, with out placing themselves in any additional hazard. "We hope Socks recovers from the expertise quickly.”
