Former Motherwell centre-back Mitchell van der Gaag has been formally appointed Manchester United assistant supervisor.
The 50-year-old's transfer to Outdated Trafford has been awaited after Erik ten Hag was introduced as Pink Devils boss following time at Ajax.
Van der Gaag was assistant to the brand new Reds boss in Amsterdam and now returns to UK soccer for the primary time since ending his two-year Fir Park stint in 1997.
He was closely linked with a return to ML1 as boss in 2014 however has since cast a powerful teaching CV.
It started in Portugal with Maritimo after which Belenenses, whom he led to the Primeira Liga. He returned house to the Netherlands in 2015 after a spell in Cyprus, working at FC Eindhoven, Excelsior and NAC earlier than becoming a member of Ajax in 2019.
