EasyJet flight forced to return to Glasgow airport after 'hitting bird'

An EasyJet flight was compelled to urgently return to Glasgow Airport after a 'hitting a fowl'.

The airplane had taken off from the airport at round 4pm on Saturday to take passengers to Faro Airport in Portugal.

However shortly after jetting off the pilot was compelled to return to Glasgow.

The Airbus A319 arrived safely again on the airport at round 4.55pm.

EasyJet has now confirmed the pilot took the choice following a 'fowl strike'.

The airline added that nobody was injured within the incident and emergency crews met the plane as a 'precaution solely'.

An EasyJet spokesperson stated: “easyJet can affirm that the Captain of flight EZY6843 from Glasgow to Faro took the choice to return to Glasgow following a fowl strike.

"The plane landed usually and was met by emergency companies as a precaution solely and consistent with procedures. The security and wellbeing of our clients and crew is easyJet’s highest precedence.

“Sadly as there was no alternative plane accessible to function the flight to Faro or the return flight EZY6844 from Faro to Glasgow, we offered clients with the choice of transferring to a different flight totally free or receiving a refund in the event that they now not wished to journey, in addition to resort lodging and meals the place required.
