When the sq.’s buildings had been formally opened by HRH Prince George - later to be the Duke of Kent - on thirtieth November 1933, the sovenir programme made for very fascinating studying.

The Caird Corridor was formally opened by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) on the twenty third October 1923.

The Sq. itself was laid out as a central plaza with a roadway round it and the world beneath was left accessible for future growth.

The roadway was eliminated within the 1980's and timber, fountains, new paving, and avenue furnishings to enhance the buildings' metalwork had been put in.
