Hearth crews labored by the night time to sort out a wildfire that trapped a driver on the A830 who turned engulfed in black smoke.
The blaze broke out simply North of Mallaig on the west coast on the Highlands on Tuesday afternoon.
The Scottish Hearth and Rescue Service have been on the scene for nearly 14 hours.

The Scottish Hearth and Rescue Service mentioned it was alerted to the Mallaig blaze at about 13:05 and was affecting boggy floor between the A830 and B8008.
A spokesperson mentioned: "Operations management mobilised 5 home equipment to the scene, the place crews labored to extinguish a hearth masking 300 acres.
"Operations have been stopped at 2.52 am on Wednesday, March 23."
SFRS beforehand mentioned that there was no reported casualties.
