“Chargers’ S Derwin James inactive today vs. the Giants,” Schefter tweeted. James was questionable heading into the game with a hamstring injury.
After two injury-plagued seasons, the star safety has played in all 12 games for the Chargers this year. Playing in 98-percent of the team’s defensive snaps.
The former Florida State standout leads LA in tackles with 100. He’s also added three forced fumbles, two picks, and a pair of sacks. Despite the New York Giants‘ offensive struggles, James’ absence will still be a significant one.

Luckily, the team won’t be without Pro Bowl corner Chris Harris Jr. as well. Harris was listed on the team’s Reserve/COVID-19 list earlier in the week. However, it looks like he and receiver Mike Williams will be back on the field against the G-Men.
Star receiver Keenan Allen remains out.
The Chargers and Giants kick off in the middle window of Sunday’s action on FOX.
