CFB World Reacts To Wednesday’s Quinn Ewers News

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: SEP 11 Oregon at Ohio State

There appears to be two teams left in the Quinn Ewers sweepstakes. On Wednesday, reports surfaced that the former Ohio State quarterback is down to two Texas schools.

Per Longhorns reporter Anwar Richardson, Ewers is set to visit UT this weekend.

“Former Ohio State QB Quinn Ewers is scheduled to visit Texas on Saturday,” Richardson reported. “Ewers is deciding between Texas & Texas Tech, but TCU was recently eliminated. Those close to the situation hope Ewers decides by Monday.”

Ewers seems to be intent on returning to the Lone Star State. The Southlake Carroll product initially committed to the University of Texas, but the Longhorns’ turmoil at the time pushed Ewers to re-open his recruitment. The top QB prospect in the nation ended up choosing Ryan Day and the Buckeyes.

However, Ewers quickly found himself buried on OSU’s depth chart after re-classifying. And it became clear the Buckeyes were Heisman-finalist C.J. Stroud’s team.

Now the 6-foot-2, 200-pound QB is back on the market. And the college football world is talking.

“Prepare your best Texas is back tweets,” said one fan.

“Ewers to Texas Tech would be the perfect match,” added another.

“The UT faithful are holding their collective breaths right now,” another fan tweeted. “This may be the most important recruit over the last decade for the Longhorns.”

Adding, “Ewers is that good of an arm talent.”

By most accounts, we should have an answer on Ewers decision very soon. Could Quinn Ewers be the piece to help turn things around in Austin?
