Cowboys Announce Notable Loss For Thursday Night’s Game

The Cowboys are going to be down another player for next Thursday’s game against the New Orleans Saints.

Dallas announced on Sunday morning that starting right tackle Terence Steele was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list.

Steele has been consistent for Dallas this season. He’s played 714 offensive snaps and has only allowed two sacks, plus has only taken seven penalties.

He’s also started 10 of the team’s 11 games this season. La’el Collins will likely get the start in Steele’s place, especially with Tyron Smith back on the other side.

To make matters worse, Dallas will also be without offensive line coach Joe Philbin again after he tested positive for COVID-19 this past week. Offensive assistant coaches Jeff Blasko and Scott Tolzien are going to have to miss the Saints game as well.

The Cowboys have lost two in a row after starting out the season 7-2. They lost by 10 to the Chiefs on Nov. 21 and then lost in overtime on Thanksgiving to the Raiders, 36-33.

If there’s a silver lining in this, it’s that Dallas is hoping to get back receivers CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper.

Cooper will be eligible to come off the COVID list if his symptoms are gone, and Lamb will be hoping to be out of the concussion protocol.

Kickoff will be at 8:20 p.m. ET.
