A lady has been rushed to hospital after a three-vehicle pile-up in Ayrshire. Emergency companies raced to the scene on the A78, close to Kilwinning, round 5.30pm.
The multi-motor smash introduced the busy street to a standstill, with police, the Scottish Fireplace and Rescue Service (SFRS) and paramedics in attendance.
One girl was taken to hospital and a person has since been charged in reference to the incident, cops confirmed this night. Reviews of heavy tailbacks of visitors in and across the accident web site have been reported on social media.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: "At round 4.40pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022, we have been referred to as to a report of a three-car crash on the A78 close to Pennyburn Roundabout.
"One girl was taken to Crosshouse Hospital to be checked over. Restoration was organized for all three autos and the street reopened at round 6.45pm. A person has been charged in reference to the incident and a report will probably be despatched to the Procurator Fiscal."
A spokesman for the SFRS stated: "We acquired a name round 4.48pm to attend a three-vehicle accident on the A78.
"Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been each in attendance. We despatched 4 home equipment, but it surely was established after arrival that no help was wanted from the hearth service."
