The one supermarket which has quietly slashed petrol and diesel prices this week

A main grocery store has quietly dropped each petrol and diesel costs. Asda is now charging a mean of 153.5p for petrol and 176.7p for diesel, which is round 2p lower than its rivals.

The grocery store dropped petrol charges by 4.5p on common, whereas diesel costs have slashed by round 5.5p. Costs began to drop two days in the past, based on the RAC's gas watch.

This comes after the motoring group urged Huge 4 retailers to drop their gas charges by a minimum of 5p, because it was not reflecting wholesale financial savings. They're now urging opponents Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Tesco to catch up.

RAC gas spokesman Simon Williams stated: "Our information reveals that, with out promoting the very fact, Asda has taken a mean of 4.5p off the price of litre of unleaded throughout its 320 websites within the final two days, and round 5.5p off diesel.

"Whereas we’re happy one main grocery store retailer has lastly began heeding our calls to cross on the large drop within the wholesale costs of each fuels, the very fact these value cuts have been made so quietly is unquestionably admission that they need to have come a lot sooner."
