Stirling could be in for a white Christmas as Met Office issues snow warning

Stirling is ready for a white Christmas after the Met Workplace issued a yellow climate warning for the large day.

Forecasters have warned that the world might see snowfall on each Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

The area is dealing with frequent blustery snow showers, that are prone to trigger some journey disruption on increased routes.

The climate warning is in place from 9pm on Christmas Day till 6pm on Boxing Day

A Met Workplace forecaster mentioned: “Strengthening west-northwesterly winds will carry more and more frequent wintry showers to the west of Scotland by Sunday night time and into Monday morning. These might fall as snow to low ranges for a time the place non permanent accumulations of 1-3cm are doable, with 5-10 m of snow over the hills.

“Icy surfaces shall be an extra hazard. Snow will grow to be more and more confined to increased floor by Monday morning, with an additional 10cm or so doable by the tip of the day.

The warning has been issued for Stirling, Perth and Kinross, West Dunbartonshire, Argyll and Bute, Aberdeenshire, Moray and the Highlands.

Met Workplace forecasters have warned that some roads and railways are prone to be affected, with longer journey instances by highway, bus and prepare companies.
