Scots cops continue enquiries into horror Lanarkshire road smash that left two dead

A driver concerned in a horror highway crash that left two pensioners useless has been launched pending additional enquiries.

The 34-year-old was arrested after the incident, however Lanarkshire Stay understands he has not been charged as police proceed their investigation into the accident.

Driver John Laird, 80, and his buddy and passenger Michael McManamon, 73, have been each killed within the crash late at night time on November 18, on the junction between Mill Road and King's Park Avenue in Rutherglen.

The pair had been travelling in a Mercedes C220 which was concerned in a crash with a Ford Mondeo, with the Mondeo driver unharmed.
