Body of pensioner, 81, pulled from Scots river on Christmas Day by police

The physique of a pensioner has been pulled from an Aberdeenshire river on Christmas Day, police have confirmed.

Officers have been known as to the River Deveron in Huntly on Sunday, December 25, earlier than the 81-year-old was recovered from the waterway at round 9.30am.

Investigators say there aren't any suspicious circumstances surrounding his dying and his household have been informed the heartbreaking information.

A report shall be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal as is the case with all sudden deaths.

An announcement from Police Scotland mentioned: “Round 9.30am on Sunday, December 25, the physique of an 81-year-old man was recovered from the River Deveron, Huntly.

“His household are conscious and there aren't any suspicious circumstances. A report shall be despatched to the Procurator Fiscal.”
