Airdrie boss Rhys McCabe instructed his aspect to manage the midfield so they may win the battle and take some extent from Falkirk.
Callum Smith's 78th-minute strike earned some extent from the Falkirk Stadium, cancelling out Kai Kennedy's first-half purpose, and McCabe was happy along with his lot total, and reckons Airdrie may have taken all three, had they capitalised on their probabilities.

However McCabe says it was the midfield power, which allowed stars like Charlie Telfer and Dean McMaster to get on the ball, that made the distinction.
He mentioned: "I assumed performance-wise within the first half we have been a bit bit frantic. I assumed we struggled with their rotation and motion in midfield particularly.
"Distances from again to entrance have been a bit bit too large and that allowed them areas and pockets for the likes of Morrison and Kennedy to return in and get in on the half-turn and actually trigger us some issues.
"However in that respect we by no means actually conceded probabilities. Though that they had loads of the ball, they by no means actually lower us open or created many probabilities.
"We mentioned at half-time it was about getting management, particularly in the course of the pitch. Can we get our passing sport going, be courageous and break the traces and I feel we carried out that effectively within the second half."
McCabe added: "Within the first half we had 4 one-on-ones, if we take three or 4 of them the sport's lifeless and buried and out of sight.
"Callum Smith goes by way of one on one twice, is a bit bit snatchy and would not hit the goal, when on one other day he perhaps scores two or three.
"We received the purpose within the second half and, trying again on the probabilities we had, we're perhaps a bit bit unlucky to not rating a pair extra.
"However we won't be too sad with some extent. I feel it was the minimal we deserved, by way of the probabilities we created, the 4 within the first half have been actually good alternatives."
