A Scots dad who tragically died after an unintended fall in Croatia has been remembered as a “devoted household man” by his heartbroken family members. Gavin McCarte, from Dumbarton, sadly handed away whereas on vacation with pals final month.
The 36-year-old’s loss of life shouldn't be being handled as suspicious by native police whereas his household are being supported by the International, Commonwealth and Growth Workplace.
The doting dad-of-two was an engineering supervisor for Scottish Water and was “properly revered throughout the trade”.
A tribute assertion, issued by way of the FCDO on behalf of his family members, stated: “The household of Gavin McCarte affirm that he died following an unintended fall whereas on vacation with pals in Croatia.
“Native police in Croatia confirmed that the incident was a tragic accident with no suspicious circumstances.
“Gavin was a loving husband and devoted household man with two younger kids. Aged 36, he was a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and properly revered throughout the trade and all through the local people.
“The household are devastated by this sudden and tragic accident and request that their privateness is revered throughout this extraordinarily troublesome time.”
An FCDO spokesperson added: “We're supporting the household of a British man who has died in Croatia.”
