Charles Kimbrough, Emmy-nominated for his portrayal of hard-edged information anchor Jim Dial on Murphy Brown, has died on the age of 86. He died Jan. 11 in Culver Metropolis, California, his son John confirming his loss of life to TheNew York Occasions.

Kimbrough was born in Minnesota in 1936 and grew up in Highland Park, Illinois, earlier than finding out music and theater at Indiana College. He later bought a grasp’s from the Yale College of Drama.
