A person has appeared in court docket charged with the homicide of a person whose stays have been present in a Co Tyrone reservoir.
During a short listening to at Strabane Magistrates’ Court docket, Stephen Eugene McCourt, from McGartland Terrace, Dromore, was charged with murdering Damien Heagney between December 30 2021 and January 6 2022.
When requested if he understood the cost, the 39-year-old replied “sure”.
A PSNI detective inspector instructed the court docket he may join the accused to the cost.
There was no utility for bail and McCourt was remanded in custody till November 2.
A homicide investigation was launched after the stays of Mr Heagney have been recovered from a reservoir in Cappagh, Co Tyrone, in August.
The 47-year-old, from Cookstown, was final seen in Dromore on New 12 months’s Eve in 2021.
