Firework tossed into Scots leisure centre as stunned gymgoers evacuated

Punters and employees have been pressured to evacuate a Scots leisure centre employees after thugs threw a lit firework into the premises final evening.

In line with Edinburgh Reside, emergency providers scrambled to the scene simply earlier than 9pm on October 31 when the fireplace alarm was activated after the dwell pyrotechnic was thrown into the foyer of Drum Brae Leisure Centre in Edinburgh.

Edinburgh Leisure condemned the "reckless act" and mentioned it was lucky no one was damage.

A spokesperson mentioned: "We are able to affirm that a firework was set off inside Drumbrae Leisure Centre, simply earlier than 9:00pm on October 31. In consequence, the fireplace alarm was activated, and all prospects have been taken to the meeting level.

Chatting with the Report tonight, a Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed they've launched a probe.

They mentioned: "At round 8.55 pm on Monday November 1, police obtained a report of a firework being thrown into the DrumBrae Leisure Centre constructing at Drum Brae Terrace, Edinburgh. There was no-one injured and enquiries are ongoing."
