Author Michael Rosen to speak at Westminster Abbey coronavirus service

Former kids’s laureate Michael Rosen is among the many audio system at a Westminster Abbey service remembering those that died throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Hundreds of bereaved family members and NHS key staff are attending the central London service, which is able to see church officers bless bushes and saplings earlier than they're planted in a dwelling memorial backyard, on Tuesday.

They'll develop on the Nationwide Memorial Arboretum within the Nationwide Forest at Alrewas, close to Lichfield, Staffordshire.

The hour-long service of prayers, hymns and readings from company is being led by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle.

Mr Rosen, an writer, kids’s laureate from 2007-2009 and who suffered badly with coronavirus, mentioned he was wanting ahead to talking on the service.

He shared the occasion on Twitter with the phrases: “That is at this time.

“I’m wanting ahead to being there and doing a brief studying in honour of those that served and died throughout the pandemic.”

Mr Rosen was put in a coma with Covid-19 and misplaced his sight in a watch and listening to in an ear because of microbleeds in his mind.

The Westminster service will begin at 12pm.
