Rush-hour crash causes tailbacks on M8 in Glasgow as cops rush to scene

An individual was taken to hospital following a rush-hour crash which sparked journey delays on the M8 in Glasgow immediately.

The collision occurred on the busy motorway close to Junction 19 at round 7.15am. A number of lanes on the westbound carriageway have been restricted in consequence, and police and restoration groups have been referred to as to the scene.

A photograph taken on the spot, which was shared on social media by Visitors Scotland, reveals autos grinding to a close to halt, as queues construct for these heading out on their early morning commute.

Drivers have been warned that there could be delays. Since then, transport bosses have confirmed that the incident has been cleared and visitors is now not at a standstill, with all lanes operating easily as of 8am.

A person was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to obtain therapy. Their age and the extent of their accidents will not be but recognized, neither is what number of autos have been concerned within the smash, or the circumstances surrounding it.

A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: "We have been made conscious of a crash involving two autos on the M8 westbound close to junction 19 shortly after 7.10am on Monday, 17 October. One individual was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary."
