An 82-year-old girl has died in hospital in hospital following a highway crash between two vehicles in Orkney.
The incident occurred round 6.40pm on Saturday, October 15, on the A965 at Cursiter, a couple of mile east of Finstown, and concerned a purple Land Rover Discovery and a black VW Golf.
The aged girl was a passenger within the Discovery and was taken to Balfour Hospital after struggling critical accidents. She was transferred to to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, the place she died on Sunday, October 16.
The driving force of the Discovery, a 79-year-old man, was taken to Balfour Hospital and handled for minor accidents, as was the motive force of the Golf, a 26-year-old man.
The highway was closed whereas investigation work was carried out and reopened round 3.30pm right now. Police at the moment are interesting for info as enquiries proceed.
Highway Policing Sergeant David Miller mentioned: “Our ideas are with the household of the lady who has died and our enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the total circumstances regarding the crash.
