Nurse goes on trial charged with murdering seven babies in neonatal unit

A nurse has gone on trial accused of a number of child murders.

Lucy Letby, 32, faces fees that she murdered 5 boys and two ladies, and tried to homicide one other 5 boys and 5 ladies, between June 2015 and June 2016.

Letby, of Arran Avenue, Hereford, is claimed to have gone on a year-long killing spree whereas working within the neonatal unit of the Countess of Chester Hospital in Chester.

She denies all of the allegations.

The defendant, sporting a darkish swimsuit, appeared within the dock on Tuesday as unreportable authorized points had been aired.

Her mother and father, John, 76, and Susan, 62, watched as proceedings had been relayed to annexe courtrooms attended by households of the youngsters concerned and members of the press.

A courtroom order prohibits reporting of the identities of surviving and deceased youngsters allegedly attacked by Letby, and prohibits figuring out mother and father or witnesses related with the youngsters.
