Larkhall Academy celebrated the successes of senior pupils at their first in-person prize giving ceremony because the begin of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The night, which occurred on Wednesday, October 5, highlighted the educational and community-based achievements of the secondary faculty's 2021-22 senior pupils.
Beginning with a implausible show of musical skills the Academy's Presentation Committee was escorted onto the stage by the newly shaped faculty pipe band. This was adopted by a wonderful rendition of “With You”, from Ghost the musical, by Samantha Dhalakama.
Head instructor Mr Smith gave opening remarks and Gordon McGregor, from the charity Paradventures, gave an inspiring speech about his profession within the police pressure and his work with disabled younger folks, each of which stemmed from experiences he had in his faculty days.
As pupils, mother and father/carers, lecturers and employees moved in the direction of the tip of the night, Maya Franks was awarded Proxime Accessit.
The night culminated within the award of Faculty Dux, collectively introduced to pupils Chloe and Hayley Gilfillan.
Deputy head instructor Mr Mullen praised each women tutorial and different achievements as he congratulated the pair.
Head instructor Mr Smith added: "We're very pleased with all younger individuals who acquired awards on the occasion and are grateful to those that got here alongside to assist."
