Dog units called in amid search for Scots pensioner who vanished a week ago

Search canines and mountain rescue groups have been drafted into the search operation for a lacking Scots pensioner.

The items are at present on their third day of search after William Hogg vanished final week. The 75-year-old was final seen at round 12.45pm on Wednesday, October 5, within the Callander space of Stirlingshire.

Mountain Rescue Groups from Killin and Loch Lomond say the final three days have been dominated by the seek for William. Photos present crews shifting into wooded areas in Callander with a search canine of their efforts to find the pensioner's whereabouts.

A Tweet reads: " The staff have been out for a 3rd day for the continuing seek for Falkirk man William Hogg. The search is targeted in and across the Callander space.

"The staff had been assisted by our colleagues from @LomondMRT. Sadly at this level, the gentleman has but to be positioned."

William is described as being round 5ft6in tall, of a muscular construct, with gray hair and a moustache. He has tattoos on every forearm and wears glasses.

On the time of his disappearance, he was sporting a navy-coloured bomber jacket, denims and black and white trainers. Inspector David Bellingham of Stirling Police Station earlier informed how William's household are rising more and more involved for him.

He stated: “We're involved for William’s welfare, and I do know his household and pals are extraordinarily anxious. Officers are focusing their search on the Callander space and reviewing CCTV as a part of enquiries, and we might urge anybody with info on his whereabouts to please contact us.

“If in case you have seen William, please name Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference quantity 3507 of 5 October 2022.”
