South Lanarkshire Council to designate warm spaces to help cost of living crisis

South Lanarkshire councillors have welcomed the choice to implement heat areas throughout the realm to assist these fighting the price of dwelling.

On the full council assembly, a movement proposed by Councillor Julia Marrs and seconded by Maureen Chalmers was offered to elected members.

Council chief Joe Fagan proposed to alter the wording of the ‘heat banks’ to ‘heat welcome initiative’’ to keep away from any stigma.
