Man dies in west Belfast house fire

A person has died in a home hearth in west Belfast.

Northern Eire Fireplace and Rescue crews (NIFRS) attended the blaze in a two storey terraced home on Lenadoon Avenue on Wednesday morning.

Group Commander Geoff Somerville stated the ideas and sympathies of all workers are with lifeless man’s family members.

“On Wednesday 21 September at 8.04am, Firefighters had been referred to as to reviews of a fireplace in a 2 storey terraced home,” he stated.

“Two hearth home equipment from Springfield hearth station attended the incident.

“The fireplace was out when firefighters arrived, however tragically a person was discovered lifeless on the scene.

“The incident was handled by 9.59am and the reason for the fireplace is beneath investigation.”
