Man dies after horror two-lorry crash on A9 as other HGV driver injured

A 64-year-old man has tragically died after a horrific street crash involving two lorries on the A9.

Emergency providers raced to the part of street close to Carrbridge within the Highlands after receiving a name at 4.15am immediately. Medics attended however one of many drivers, Alan Jones from Inverness, was sadly pronounced lifeless on the scene.

The opposite driver of the HGV, a 56-year-old man, was blue-lighted to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. He was later launched following therapy.

The part of street stays closed whereas officers perform ongoing investigations into the deadly collision. Police Scotland is interesting to any witnesses of the crash to come back ahead.

Notably, they need to hear from these with dash-cam footage.

Sergeant Alasdair Mackay, Highway Policing Unit, stated: "My ideas are with Alan’s household and associates at this troublesome time. I might attraction to anybody who noticed what occurred or anybody within the space across the time who noticed the HGVs previous to the crash to please contact us.

"Likewise, anybody with sprint cam footage of the A9 across the time of the incident, please assessment it and get in contact with us if you happen to suppose you’ve captured something related."
