Settlement has been reached to droop a strike by staff at Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon (ABC) borough council.
The industrial motion had been working for six weeks and had led to hundreds of bins throughout the world not being collected and piles of garbage in some areas.
The choice to droop the strike got here after commerce union representatives met with council representatives on Wednesday to debate a brand new pay deal which had been agreed by the council on Monday evening.
The strike motion is ready to finish at one minute previous midnight on Thursday.
The three taking part unions, Unite, GMB and Nipsa, launched a joint assertion with the council.
It stated: “Following constructive negotiations between administration and the joint commerce unions, an settlement in precept has been reached and accepted by elected members.
“It's agreed to droop strike motion on Thursday September 22 (12.01am), topic to a poll of members on the settlement.”
The improved pay deal for workers which was agreed by the council was brokered following mediation by the Labour Relations Company.

It added: “The general annual price to council shall be within the area of £1.5 million, with a further £1.2 million taken from council reserves to fund the one-off price of dwelling funds.
