Runaway cows on major Scots motorway sparks emergency closure during rush hour

Two escaped cows have sparked an emergency closure of a serious Scots motorway after being noticed working alongside the arduous shoulder. Police have been known as to the scene on the southbound carriageway of the M73 close to the Gartcosh Interchange at J2A.

An image shared by Visitors Scotland exhibits the heifers on the roadside at round 4.10pm on Monday, September 26. Motorists are being urged to make use of warning on method.

Police Scotland officers are being supported by a Trunk Street Incident Assist Service (TRISS) car, which will be seen tailing the travelling beasts.

Visitors Scotland tweeted: “M73 J2A hazard. The southbound carriageway is presently restricted on account of cows on the arduous shoulder. Police and TRISS are in attendance. Take care on method.”

Police Scotland have been contacted for remark.
