Man (28) appears in court accused of attempted murder after victim stabbed in head, neck and stomach

A person has appeared in courtroom in Co Antrim accused of tried homicide.

Aaron McIlhatton is charged in relation to a stabbing incident at a home within the Grove Highway space yesterday.

The 28-year-old, of Haughton's Corridor, Cullybackey, appeared at courtroom by way of video hyperlink.

He's charged with tried homicide; aggravated housebreaking; possession of a 'firearm' with intent to trigger concern of violence and possession of an offensive weapon — a knife — with intent to commit an indictable offence.

A police officer stated he believed he may join the defendant to the fees.

Defence barrister Neil Moore stated there was no software for bail.

No particulars got to the courtroom concerning the alleged circumstances of the stabbing incident.

Yesterday, in a press launch, police stated they obtained a report of a stabbing incident at a home within the Grove Highway space of Ballymena, shortly after 4am.

The PSNI stated it had been reported that a man compelled his manner into the property by way of the entrance door and made his manner inside, the place he stabbed a male occupant a number of occasions inflicting critical accidents to his head, neck and stomach.

The injured man was taken to hospital following the incident the place, the police stated, he was in a critical situation.

At courtroom, the defendant was remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to Ballymena Magistrates Court docket on October 13.
