Lewis Capaldi left presenters on BBC Breakfast red-faced with embarrassment after after making a impolite remark throughout a reside interview, which he later known as a "breakdown in communication".

The Scots singer was reside on air with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt on Saturday morning to debate his newest single Neglect Me.

In the direction of the top of the interview Lewis left the pair shocked after mishearing Naga. The 25-year-old commented to Charlie that he has "nice hair" - with the praise returned by the presenter.

Naga then requested the pair: "Would you want a room?". Apparently not listening to her correctly, the Glaswegian then tells her he thought she used an x-rated time period, saying: "I assumed you stated 'rim'."

The presenters had been left shocked and laughing, with Naga swiftly ending the interview, including: "We'll have a bit phrase with Lewis."

Twitter customers commented on the incident, with one saying: "It was such a superb interview, thanks for that begin to Saturday!"

One other stated: "I've simply needed to clarify what that's to my Mum on her 76th birthday cos I used to be laughing too onerous at this she wished to see the clip... It is not the present I wished to offer her!"
