‘It’s mean-spirited to criticise anyone for being respectful’ – Doug Beattie reacts to Arlene Foster slamming coverage of Sinn Fein meeting King Charles

Ulster Unionist chief Doug Beattie has instructed that Arlene Foster was “mean-spirited” in her criticism of the media for what she believes has been ‘intense protection’ of Sinn Fein’s conferences with King Charles III.

“I suppose all of us have a look at issues differently and in a unique perspective, and Arlene Foster has on condition that perspective,” added the Higher Bann MLA. 

"I’m fairly clear in my perspective and what I’ve seen is compassion proper throughout all of the political events right here in Northern Eire, they usually’ve been extremely respectful. I believe it will be mean-spirited to criticise anyone for being respectful.”

BBC NI declined to answer Mr Allister’s feedback.
