A chippy has revealed it can fry for the final time this week as hovering prices put paid to its standard operation.
Pegs Plaice within the village of Kirkconnel has introduced that spiralling payments — which incorporates some inventory greater than doubling in value — has left enterprise unsustainable.
The store will shut for the ultimate time this Friday.
Posting on social media, Louise Brennan of Pegs Plaice: "This isn't what I anticipated to be writing as this has been a really laborious and upsetting resolution for me to make. I've determined to shut the store on Friday, September 30.
"I've put loads of laborious work into the enterprise over the previous few years however sadly the financial system has taken over and the overheads have turn out to be unachievable for the enterprise.
