Pensioner dies after horror crash with bus on A9 as police appeal for information

Police are interesting for info after a pensioner died following a deadly crash on the A9 final evening.

The incident, close to Slochd, 17 miles south of Inverness, befell at round 7.45pm on Friday, 16 September. The crash concerned a silver Audi A4 and a white Volvo B12 single deck coach.

Emergency providers attended and the motive force of the Audi, a 73-year-old lady, was pronounced useless on the scene. Eight passengers from the coach had been taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by the Scottish Ambulance Service the place they had been handled for minor accidents and later launched.

The street was closed whereas collision investigation work was carried out and re-opened round 4am on Saturday, 17 September, 2022.

Sergeant Neil MacDonald stated: “Our ideas are with the household and associates of the girl who died and our enquiries are ongoing to determine the complete circumstances of what occurred.

“I'm interesting to anybody who might have witnessed the crash or who has dash-cam footage that might help with our investigation to get in contact.

“Anybody with info is requested to name Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident quantity 3350 of Friday, 16 September, 2022.”
