A Paisley runner is taking to the streets of Belfast and Glasgow to boost cash for charity by finishing two half marathons in two weeks.

Avid athlete John MacAskill will probably be gathering cash for Accord Hospice, a charity near his coronary heart after his mom was cared for there in 1993.

The 59-year-old says elevating cash for the Paisley charity is one thing he's proud to do and his first race was in 2010, which was the Accord Hospice 5K.

He stated: “I'm actually excited to see the beginning line over in Belfast as Accord is a charity that has carried out lots for my household.

“The hospice cared for my mum in 1993 they usually have been implausible along with her, so I consider this as me giving just a little again to them.
