A diver has died after being discovered injured at a harbour on a Scottish island.
The alarm was raised at round 7.15pm on Wednesday night time after police obtained a report of a diver having been injured at Stornoway Harbour, on the Isle of Lewis.
Emergency crews raced to the scene together with a coastguard crew and a RNLI lifeboat. The 38-year-old man was taken to Western Isles Hospital.
Sadly, he was pronounced useless whereas en path to the hospital. Nobody else was injured, with police confirming that they're treating the loss of life as unexplained.
Inquiries are ongoing to ascertain the total circumstances. The Well being and Security Government has been knowledgeable and a report can be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: “Round 7.15pm on Wednesday, August 31, officers obtained a report of a diver having been injured at Stornoway Harbour.
“A 38-year-old male diver was taken to Western Isles Hospital, nonetheless he was pronounced useless en path to hospital. Nobody else was injured.
“The loss of life is being handled as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the total circumstances.
