Well-known Dumbarton couple celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary

A diamond couple who're well-known Dumbarton stalwarts have toasted their sixtieth wedding ceremony anniversary.

Harvie Wilson, 86, and Margo Wilson, 83, celebrated their sixtieth wedding ceremony anniversary on Wednesday, August 10, after assembly within the Albert Ballroom in Glasgow, with the pair getting married a number of years later at Carnwadric Church.

The couple, each church elders at Riverside Parish Church, have been long-standing members of the area people.

Harvie is arguably the longest serving member of the Vale of Leven Golf Membership, having been there since 1958, whereas Margo taught many locals as a major instructor at Knoxland Main Faculty for over 30 years, earlier than retiring in 1997.

Discussing how they plan to have fun their large day, Margo stated: “We initially needed to maintain it lowkey as a result of for our golden wedding ceremony anniversary we had a giant get together.

The couple have each continued to partake in sports activities and group actions nicely into their 80s, from Harvie’s golfing to Margo singing with a number of choirs over time, together with the church choir, Dalvait Singers and Helensburgh Dorian Choir.

Their proud son, Keith Wilson, sees his mother and father as an inspiration, including: “My mum is understood in regards to the space from folks my age and older as Mrs Wilson due to how many individuals she has taught right here, and the way nicely considered locally she is.
