Two charged in connection with blaze that ravaged derelict Scots hotel

Two youths have been charged after a blaze at a derelict lodge in Fife.

Emergency providers battled the inferno at the Lundin Hyperlinks lodge in Leven for 17 hours on Thursday, August 18.

The lodge, which has been closed for eight years, was destroyed within the hearth.

Fife Council have since introduced that the constructing has been broken past restore and must be demolished.

This night, Police Scotland confirmed two 15-year-old boys have been charged in reference to the fireplace. They are going to be reported to the related authorities for consideration.

A Police Scotland spokesperson stated: "Following a fireplace at a lodge on Leven Highway in Lundin Hyperlinks that was reported round 9pm on Thursday, 18 August, 2022, two male youths have now been charged.

"The youths, each 15 years outdated, shall be reported to the related authorities for consideration."

The constructing's proprietor, Kapital Residential Restricted, filed for liquidation in June.
