A 15-year-old boy has been arrested by police at a weekend soccer match after a pyrotechnic was allegedly hurled onto the pitch.
Police at SMISA Stadium in Paisley moved in to detain the teenager after the firework was allegedly thrown from the gang whereas St Mirren performed Motherwell of their first SPFL match of the season. Officers have since confirmed that the teenager was faraway from the stadium and arrested.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated that the behaviour of followers through the match was in any other case "a credit score to themselves and their membership". They didn't say what motion could be taken in opposition to the 15-year-old in relation to the allegations.
The spokesperson stated: "A 15-year-old male was arrested in reference to throwing a pyrotechnic through the St Mirren v Motherwell soccer fixture on Sunday, 31 July, 2022.
“We work carefully with each golf equipment through the planning course of and on match days to deal with this sort of behaviour.
"We want to thank the overwhelming majority of followers for his or her conduct, they had been a credit score to themselves and their membership.”
Motherwell received the sport 1-0 after Kevin van Veen put one away shortly earlier than half-time.
Nonetheless, the win was sullied by Ricki Lamie's purple card within the 82nd minute for his deal with on Keanu Baccus.
