Rangers star's injury shock as midfielder looks to be sidelined for weeks

Rangers startlet Alex Lowry has been dealt a significant blow after photos emerged of him on crutches and in a knee brace, following his horror harm in a SPFL Belief Trophy win over Dumbarton.

The 19-year-old from Uddingston was the sufferer of a lunging sort out from Sons star Ally Love, for which the previous Clyde star says he has acquired demise threats.

Lowry, who missed most of pre-season with a knock, was stretchered off following the problem in a recreation that Rangers gained 7-0 on Tuesday, with the teenager bagging a hat-trick.

Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that Lowry might be out for a while, having been despatched for a knee scan on Wednesday.
