A pensioner has died after a highway crash in North Ayrshire yesterday.
The tragic incident occurred round 3pm exterior The Rowan Tree backyard centre and restaurant on the A78 at Ardrossan.
It concerned an 81-year-old man, who was out strolling his canine, and a 73-year-old girl, who was driving a black Ford Focus on the time.
The person was, sadly, pronounced useless on the scene when mercy crews arrived to cope with the scenario. No data has been supplied but on the situation of the motorist or the animal.
The highway was closed for a number of hours between Ardrossan and Seamill whereas investigation work was carried out.
