Over 6000 meals donated to Lanarkshire charities by retail giant

Greater than 6000 meals have been donated to North and South Lanarkshire charities by grocery store Aldi throughout the faculty summer season holidays to assist folks in want.

The grocery store paired its shops up with native charities, foodbanks and neighborhood teams within the area through neighborhood giving platform Neighbourly to donate surplus meals to good causes.

Because the partnership started in 2019, Aldi’s UK shops have already donated greater than 25 million meals to over 3600 native causes.

Liz Fox, company duty director at Aldi UK, advised Lanarkshire Reside : "Our meals donations scheme with Neighbourly operates year-round, however we all know that college holidays are a very arduous time for households, particularly as many proceed to expertise better hardship as a result of cost-of-living disaster.
