Man, 35, dies in hospital days after being hit by Mercedes A Class on Scots road

A person has died in hospital after being struck by a Mercedes A Class in Edinburgh final week.

Paul McGlade was on foot when he was hit by the automotive on Colinton Highway round 11.35pm on Saturday, July 30.

The 35-year-old, from Edinburgh, sadly died within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on Tuesday, August 2.

The 20-year-old male driver of the automotive was unhurt.

Enquiries to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the incident stay ongoing and police are urging anybody with info to get in contact.

Sergeant Paul Ewing stated: “Our ideas are with Paul’s household and mates at this tough time.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the complete circumstances which led to this incident and I might urge anybody who could have info however has not but spoken to an officer to get in contact.

“Anybody with info can name 101, quoting reference 4406 of Saturday, 30 July, 2022.”
