Alan Partridge joins Coldplay to sing Kate Bush classic at Wembley

Actor and comic Steve Coogan shocked Coldplay followers when he joined the band in character as Alan Partridge to sing Kate Bush and Abba hits at Wembley Stadium.

The 56-year-old Hollywood star commanded the stage beside the band’s lead singer Chris Martin to belt out Bush’s current chart re-entry Operating Up That Hill, in addition to Figuring out Me, Figuring out You by the Swedish supergroup.

Coogan seemed to be in character as delusional DJ and speak present host Partridge, sporting a crimson satin jacket with the phrases “Snow Patrol” on the again.

The Partridge character has usually referenced each Bush and Abba, with Coogan performing a medley of the singer’s hits in character for Comedian Reduction in 1999.
