Wildfire breaks out near notorious Scots death trap after 'tombstoning' crowds leave mountain of rubbish

A big wildfire broke out simply yards away from a infamous quarry in Fife which has been left affected by damaged glass and garbage in current days. Sunseekers flocked to Prestonhill Quarry in Inverkeithing initially of the week to flee the hovering temperatures attributable to the heatwave.

Fife Police tweeted: “The coastal path between Dalgety Bay and Inverkeithing has been closed as a result of a hearth within the gorse bushes. Scottish Hearth and rescue Service in attendance and having to dam the pathway, so all autos will probably be caught there for now.

“A number of garbage and damaged glass too.”

A Scottish Hearth and Rescue Service spokesperson stated: "We have been alerted at 5.33pm on Wednesday, 20 July to stories of a giant space of grass and timber alight close to Preston Crescent, Inverkeithing.

"Operations Management mobilised three home equipment to the scene to extinguish the fireplace and make the world secure. There have been no reported casualties."
