Teenage girl dies after getting into difficulty in Scots river

A teenage woman has tragically died after stepping into problem in a Scots river.

Emergency companies have been referred to as to the River Teith close to Carse of Lecropt Street within the Bridge of Allan, Stirling, at 5.5pm on Tuesday, July 12.

Medics attended and rushed the 14-year-old to the Royal Kids's Hospital in Glasgow by helicopter. Police have since confirmed that she sadly handed away in hospital 4 days later.

Specialist officers are offering help to her household. A report is because of be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson mentioned: “At 5.50pm on Tuesday, July 12, police have been referred to as to a report of a 14-year-old woman in problem within the River Teith close to to Carse of Lecropt Street, Bridge of Allan. Emergency companies attended and the woman was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Kids’s Hospital in Glasgow, the place she died on Saturday, July 16.

“Officers are offering help to her household and a report will probably be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
