South Ayrshire’s Conservative administration has been accused of deceptive the general public about its key manifesto pledges.
The SNP requested council chief Martin Dowey to clarify when selections made on retaining Ayr’s excessive flats, scrapping the brand new leisure centre and the allocation of £1m to every council ward had been made.
SNP chief Peter Henderson argued that statements made to the press and group councils had led a few of the public to consider that the likes of Conservative’s pledge to cancel the leisure centre had been carried out.

In a written response, Councillor Dowey said: “An allocation of £1m per ward was included within the Conservative funds offered in March 2022. The Conservative funds was not permitted.”
Councillor Henderson responded to Cllr Dowey’s reply: “It states right here there was no change to council selections with respect to the excessive flats and leisure.
