Man charged as Glasgow Airport terminal evacuated after reports of unattended bag

A person has been charged after a terminal at Glasgow Airport was evacuated as a result of issues over an 'unattended bag'.

Cops raced to the scene at round 6.30pm yesterday after the alarm was raised over unattended baggage within the home arrivals terminal. The terminal was evacuated and locked down by officers for round two hours 'as a precaution'.

Entry to the corridor was additionally restricted whereas an investigation was launched. Pictures taken on the scene present a minimum of three officers standing guard on the terminal entrance.

Employees in high-vis vests may also be seen standing alongside them. Following enquiries, it was discovered the bag posed no danger to the general public.

The terminal reopened at round 8.30pm. Police have now confirmed a 23-year-old man has been charged in relation to the incident.
